You Tubes

I tried to create a 'department' YouTube channel this afternoon so that staff could post students' details there and students could embed their movies into their blogs. But all I kept getting was:

Sorry. Based on the information you have submitted to us, you are ineligible to register for YouTube.com.

Aargh. I'll try from home in case the IP address has been blocked. If this is the case, then it might cause us problems when posting information e.g. a static image with a student-created sound-track, or student-made movies. But there is always a way round these problems.

Please, please don't provide a link to IP address, It's a computing class you head!

But then, I suppose you're right, there are those in-class that don't know what one is.

I expect we'll be taught about IP later?

"It's a computing class you head!"

Pardon!!! If you are going to use the vernacular, the correct spelling is "heid".

This blog is also open to the world, and not just the two HNC classes. It's also fun to provide links. Sometimes I twist them, for example, using misdirection, a post about Christmas, and then say that there is only one Pogues track to end on ... of course, you know that I'm not going to link to the Fairytale of NY, fine song though it is.

As to IP addresses, do you not get CISCO training later in the year? It might come up earlier on your sessions up at Altens.
